Is the toothpaste tube recyclable?

YES! Tube and lid are 100% recyclable!

What does expectorate mean?

Expectorate means to spit out the toothpaste. Since AVO’s toothpaste does not have fluoride, there is no need to rinse your mouth out with water after brushing. Simply spit out the toothpaste and enjoy the refreshing mintiness!

What is xylitol and its benefits?

Xylitol is a natural, plant-derived sweetener that can be found in oral care products such as toothpaste, mouth rinses, gum and mints. It can also be used in baking! Xylitol has been proven to inhibit the growth of cavity-causing bacteria. It raises the pH in your mouth and decreases the risk from acidic damage to your teeth. Xylitol also increases saliva flow, which can then help with dry mouth issues (xerostomia). AVO's xylitol is non-GMO.

What is post-consumer resin?

Post-consumer resin (PCR) is recycled plastic that is repurposed and turned into new products. That’s what AVO’s tubes are made of, so no new plastic is used. AVO’s tubes and lids are 100% recyclable!

Why is my toothpaste turning into a tinted colour?

Due to AVO’s toothpaste being 100% natural, no synthetics or colour correctors were added in its formulation. The organic compound, Vanillin, comes from the natural vanilla bean flavour in AVO’s toothpaste. Vanillin, once exposed to oxygen, heat or light, darkens in colour, giving AVO’s toothpaste a natural tinted appearance. This is completely safe and harmless.(Just goes to show when we state 100% Natural, we mean it!)

How to remove and insert brush head?

Point the bristles down towards the ground. With one thumb, push into the black AVO logo, and with your other thumb push against the back of the brush head, and pull out in a downward motion. (See video on Care Instructions page for more details)

How to remove the magentic storage plate?

Use floss or something similar to slip in between the surface and the plate, use rubbing alcohol to remove any residual adhesive. Use double-sided tape to reapply to a new area. (See video on Care Instructions page for details)

Where does AVO ship to?

Currently AVO ships within Canada only, excluding Quebec. International sales coming soon. USA is toothpaste sales only.

When can I expect my order? What are the shipping times?

Orders are processed Sunday to Thursday, with an average shipping time of 3-5 business days via Canada Post or UPS.
